Marc A. Wites is a founding shareholder of Wites & Kapetan, P.A. He directs the firm's class action and injury litigation practices. Class actions, brokerage disputes and the litigation of substantial injury cases are the primary focus of Mr. Wites’ practice. He has successfully prosecuted many class actions through class certification and settlement, and is actively litigating cases on behalf of aggrieved consumers and shareholders in Florida and throughout the nation. Florida attorneys routinely seek Mr. Wites’ counsel in class action lawsuits. He also represents individual investors in securities arbitrations, and has obtained substantial settlements and arbitration awards for such clients. He is an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers, and is often chosen to act as the chairperson of the panels on which he serves as an arbitrator. Mr. Wites was named as one of Florida's Legal Elite by Florida Trend magazine in 2006 and 2007, and Best of Bar by the South Florida Business Journal in 2005. He was nominated for, and ultimately received these honors, through votes from members of the Florida Bar Association.
Arthur L. Berger is an Assistant General Counsel at the Office of General Counsel, Florida Department of Transportation, where he practices construction litigation. Mr. Berger has a degree in Architecture from Auburn University, Master of City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina, Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University where he was a member of the North Carolina Central Law Journal, and has a Master of Laws in Real Property, Land Development and Finance Law from the University of Miami. Prior to his present focus on construction law, Mr. Berger practiced in the areas of real estate law, condominium law, and zoning law. Mr. Berger authored Florida Causes of Action from 1997 through 2006. I7 |
